When the Arkansas Sustainability Network started in 2006 who would have ever imagined that this small community nonprofit would evolve into a vibrant network of likeminded folks and a thriving community farmers’ market. Over these last six years, we’ve initiated change and coordinated numerous programs and events. We’ve brought folks together in support of local schools, farms, projects, and businesses while having fun along the way. In general the process has been rather organic – pardon the pun – as we were guided by little more than good intention. Over time, our path developed strong focus on local food, gardens, and farms. It was in this area that we saw great need, willingness to change and knew we could achieve noticeable impact. So much so that Arkansas Sustainability Network has become the Arkansas Local Food Network.
Along with that change we’re excited to kickoff a new look and a new website. We hope you enjoy it and as always, keep in touch with us.
Our online farmers market at www.littlerock.locallygrown.net is now offering a Monday pick up option and accepting credit and debit card payments. Visit www.littlerock.locallygrown.net online community farmers market for details.
